Office On Board Journal/Daily Planner
Here is the On Board Journal I decorated for the Office card class kit. I turned mine into a monthly planner with multi-pockets, an address book, and inserts to keep up with monthly birthdays and anniversaries.
I didn't finish the whole thing in an effort to at least give you an idea of what I was doing, since I am so late in getting this done and posted. Okay here are the details:
I used Notations papers for the front covers and inside covers. I cut it to fit just beside the notches for the spiral binding ( 5 1/4 x 8 1/4). I wrapped wasabi ribbon over that to cover the edge. Then I cut 5 lengths each of wasabi, river rock and more mustard ribbons to go on each binder ring. This helps hide the unfinished chipboard where the binding is. You could play around with scrap paper to see how much you need to notch in to use designer paper and your spiral punch to leave no chipboard showing. My images on the front are supposed to cryptically say, DATES 2 Remember. Okay so it isn't too clear, but I thought it was imaginative.
I used 6 1/8 x 4 3/4 inch papers for the calendar stamp. I used white craft ink to stamp the calender image. I will be using a white gel pen to write the month name on it, and then the Simple Serif alphabet to do the numbers for each day in the same ink as the paper. I will also be using the Calendar cues stamp set to stamp little accents I could put in each month. I will use the envelope glue on the back of those accents so they can be stuck in place later. I think these might slip in the little pocket I made.
Okay to make pockets: I actually have two for each month. Take one sheet of the paper and tear it out halfway down (very carefully) fold it in half and then push the little paper chads into the spiral binding. Glue the bottom edges together and voila you have a sideways pocket. Then glue this pocket to the next page just gluing around the bottom and side edges and you have another pocket. In this regular pocket I put a stamped piece for recording monthly birthdays on one side and anniversaries on the other. No more forgotten occasions.
If you make the "double" pockets, you will find that the organizer is pretty bulky. You can take out left over pages you do not need from the Address book section, or simply don't make the double pockets. You will just cut down the sheet to make the regular upright pocket and then adhere it and put the birthday reminder piece in it. I hope that isn't too confusing.
Then for an address book section I used the "NOTES" stamp from Office Accoutrement and stamped on scraps of paper and will write the names, addresses, and phone numbers of family and friends.

Princess birthday present
My youngest son, John, is invited to a birthday party this weekend for one of his girlfriends from preschool. I made this princess hat and "magic" wand for her. I hope to make one more thing, but am not sure what yet. Maybe a purse. The pictures don't do the items justice. They are very cute. The hat has ribbons flowing down in the back with Prima flowers attached at the ends. The wand has ribbons and flowers on it.
I used our Designer series papers Petals and paisley, matching grosgrain ribbons, jumbo eyelets, retired flower eyelets, and that awesome crop-o-dile.
For the hat I used the whole sheet of petals and paisley paper and cut out a 12" circle, cut up the radius (1/2 the diameter), and then curled it around until I had a pretty cone shape that was as tall and narrow as I needed. I stapled this and then glued on the flowers with glue dots. You could easily use punched out paper flowers, as this was what I was going to do, then I saw all the Primas and thought that they would look good too.
The magic wand is two pieces of our awesome chipboard elements that I covered with craft ink and then glitter . I was trying to use up old pink glitter we used to sell, but I am thinking it would have been better with dazzling diamonds as the the pink doesn't match so well. Oh well, I think a 4 year old will love it.

Office card class in a box month 3: clipboard
Okay here is the clipboard I designed for my own needs using the supplies we have purchased so far for the office kits. You may customize your clipboard based on your needs. I used a 8x 9 1/2 piece of the accounting ledger printed paper and glued it to the chipboard. I then cut two strips of 1 1/4x 4 of the stripe with flowers print and used that on the top edges of the clipboard. To cut around the clip I gently used my embossing stylus (you could use the bone folder) and tried to "score" around the clip. Then I cut around the score. You can also just take your ink pads and a sponge and sponge the top part of the clipboard (use the darker colors). Then I just used a 1/4 inch strip of the reverse side of the flower stripe paper to cover over any uneven edges of what I did so far and create a clean line at the top. Once I glued on the papers, I sanded the edges with the sanding blocks to create a clean edge. That step was a little messy, but it looks better than trying to cut the paper to fit the clipboard. The messy part is just little paper "shavings" all over my black pants.
Now I added my embellishments. I used the Big Deal alphabet, Stamp of Authenticity and the punches. Then I added ribbons to the ring at the top of the clip. I plan on adding a recent picture of my family to hang on the refrigerator.
In your kit, you will get a piece of Wasabi cardstock and a few pieces of printed paper punched into photo corners to either put a photo in or as a border for calendar pieces.
You could make an identical clipboard but instead of putting "family" at the bottom, you could put Events or something to denote a calendar, and instead of putting a picture in the Wasabi focal point spot, you could put a calendar page using the Calendar stamp set.

November Paper Party SU! Special
Order 3 packages of Designer series papers and receive the 4th package FREE. These papers are wonderful quality; heavy yet easy to work with. You can use them for packaging, on cards, folded up to show both prints on cards and projects, to cover chipboard, and for so many other things. They are a great value and so many of them coordinate with stamp sets and other products. You will love them. Get in on this great value while you can. Order from Nov. 1-30th to get the special. Also don't forget the two Designer series papers in the Holiday mini catalog, and some of the seasonal papers in the regular catalog might be gone when the new catalog comes out in January. Stock up now.
Designer paper ornaments
Stampin' UP! has a great new special for November where if you buy 3 packs of Designer paper you get the 4th one free. These papers are fabulous, all are double sided, and they have so many uses. Case in point, these great little ornaments.
You take 12-- 1x6 inch strips of designer paper, that you use a 3/16 hole punch to punch a hole 1/2 inch in from each end. If you use the crop o dile, you can set the guage for 1/2 inch on the hole punch, and you can also cut through all 12 pieces of paper at once.
A coordinating piece of solid cardstock to punch out a 5 point flower
A 14" piece of coordinating ribbon folded in half, knotted at top, to thread through the flower first, then the strips of paper. Bring the ribbon through the bottom hole of the paper strips and knot so that the paper is bent into a nice round shape. Fan out the pieces of paper to make a ball.
You can use the On Board trimmings chipboard with craft ink and glitter to make the snowflake to put at the bottom, The silver elastic cord makes easy work to attach this. These were so much fun to make.
I used Wintergreen and Creepy Crawly papers. Aren't these just so cute.
Jumbo paper clips
Here are two super cute and easy jumbo paper clip magnets for our refrigerator Nathan, John and I created for their artwork. I used our Lots of Letters chipboard as well as a circle and square from the On Board Trimmings from the Holiday mini catalog. We used stickers and paper from the Creative License Simply Scrappin' kit, which is fabulous for boys. We used craft ink to color the letter chipboard pieces. For the background chipboard elements, simply use glue to glue on the paper and then with firm strokes, use a sanding block around the edges of the chipboard piece to get off excess paper. Works like a charm for neat clean edges.
Glue your pieces together then use extra heavy duty adhesive to put a magnet and jumbo paper clip (all found at Wal-Mart for not much money) and voila there you go.
I am going to make one for Grocery list, menu lists, and what I have in the freezer for food, since I buy meat in bulk at Sam's. Can't wait to get more done so I can declutter my refrigerator front.

Tapestry Card Kit in Box Grand Finale
Below are links to the latest and last projects for this card kit in a box. I hope you have enjoyed this stamp set and accessory line. I am about Baroque Motif-ed out, but I know I will enjoy using these classic elements and styles again and again. There are so many more ideas for cards and such on Splitcoaststampers to help you get even more use out of the items you have purchased these last 3 months. Please let me know if you thought this idea was worthwhile and if you enjoyed the projects. That will help me plan for future kits. I know already I will only do the kits in 2 month increments and not as many products. Less overwhelming that way for all of us, and maybe more affordable for more of you too.
Anyway, enjoy these items and let me know if my directions are not clear.

3x3 Card Holder for Tapestry kit
Here is the 3x3 card holder. It is pretty basic, used some of the paper in the Secret Garden kit, some of the kit stickers, a stamped imaged from the 1st months purchases, and some of that yummy ribbon in the ribbon originals. You might be wondering why I didn't use a lot of the ribbons this month that we purchased. For the things I came up with, there wasn't much that needed that ribbon, but certainly anywhere I used the ribbon strips from the Simply Scrappin' kit, you could substitute ribbons. You could go back to previous projects from these card kits and substitute ribbons in there too.
Here are directions for the bag/tote for the cards: You will need to cut the textured artichoke cardstock into a 6 1/2 x 10 1/2 piece. Score along the 10 1/2 side at 4 1/4 from both ends. Score from one end, flip the paper around and score from other end. You'll have 2 inches in the middle between the scores. Now along the 6 1/2 inch side you will score in 1 1/2 inches from each side. As in the other box this month, you will cut in on the middle small rectangles to make a flap that will fold in when you fold the sides up. See picture for bigger box this month to see what I mean.
Cut from the river rock print from Secret Garden a 11 x 1 1/2 strip. Wheel this with the baroque border wheel and chocolate chip ink. You might want to wheel about 6 1/2 inches, reink, and finish, lining up the wheel as best you can. I went straight across and it got very faded by the time I wheeled the whole strip. Stamp your focal piece in chocolate chip ink on leftover vanilla paper scrap. Also cut out a 2 1/8 inch square piece of artichoke textured paper and round the corners. This is what the sticker square and circle are attached to. Then add the stamped piece you did.
Ribbon for handle is 9" and I cut fishtails on ends of ribbon. You can cut diagonally if you like. I attached the handle with gold brads.
The 3x3 cards and envelopes will fit in this little tote.
Thanks again to everyone who signed up for the Tapestry card kits in a box. I sincerely hope you enjoyed getting alot of use out of these stamps and accessories. You should have plenty of supplies left over to build on these things and use your own creativity.

Tapestry card kit 3x3 cards
Here are the 3x3 cards. They are pretty easy to follow. I just used scraps of the printed papers we have used so far. The one card that has three different pieces of printed papers have the dimensions of 1 3/4 squares of top two layers, and then a 2 3/4 x 1 1/2. The pretties flowers are guava inked and river rock. Take the little stamen piece out when you ink the river rock, then thread it back into the flower and in through the bigger flower. Attach with a dimensional. The other pieces of designer papers are 3" by 1 or 1 1/4. Have fun with this card size. It can be challenging to work with such a small canvas, but use your scraps, imagination and see what you come up with.
I will post a box for this set of cards. Stay tuned.

Tapestry Box for 3x6 cards and envelopes
Here is the box for your 3x6 cards and envelopes. I made the box following the dimensions I had and it is not big enough for envelopes. In fact, it left no wiggle room for the cards. So I modified the measurements so when you make yours, they all will fit.
Take a 12" x 11 1/4" piece of textured olive paper.
Score along the 12" side at 2 5/8 from each side.
Score along the 11 1/4" side at 4 3/8" from each side. Fold along score lines and cut in on the small flap in the middle (2 5/8 x 2 1/5 rectangle in the middle along the 11 1/4 inch side) just so that this flap can be folded up and the larger flaps sealed over it to make your box. I am sure you all have made boxes like this before, so I am sure you can get that.
For the lid cut a piece of the artichoke print 6x 6 3/4". Score along the 6 inch side at 2" and 4 1/2. This is your lid. You will glue the 2" flap to the inside of the back of the box.
DO THIS NEXT STEP BEFORE YOU START GLUING YOUR BOX TOGETHER!!! Take your Brocade border wheel and olive ink and wheel what will be the bottom edge of your box (all along the inside score lines of your paper). Now you can fold the box up and glue the sides together.
Round the corners of your front flap. Now take a piece of your wide artichoke ribbon and sticky strip that all around the middle of your box and leave an overhang. I started my ribbon just under the flap on the box base and wrapped around and then cut it.
Take a large flower and med. flower from your stickers and adhere them to some scrap copy/printer paper or white cardstock. Cut them out. Use dimensionals or pop up glue dots to adhere them together. Now take a pop up glue dot and adhere to the ribbon. You keep the box closed by putting a pop up glue dot on the ribbon overhang so it attaches just below the box top flap.
Clear as mud, right? As you go along, you'll see how it goes. I have faith that you can do it.

Tapestry Card Class month 3 3x6 cards
Here is a set of 3x6 (12) cards for your next project this month. You will be making a cute box too.
Basically for this project and the next set of cards for this month, you will take one sheet of each of the colors of textured cardstock and cut out 3 6x6 pieces and then two 3x6 pieces. Save the 3x6's for later, and fold in half all the 6x6 pieces for this project.
You will need to cut the following from your patterned papers in the Secret Garden kit:
Artichoke/guava print: 3x2, 6x1, 6x1 1/2, 6x 1/2, 6x 1 1/4
Olive/river rock swirl print: 5 3/4 x 2 3/4, 3 x 2 1/2
you will need a scrap of olive/river rock satin ribbon
scrap of guava stitched ribbon from your mini album
1 antique brad
follow the pictures and use the stickers from the kit to make these easy cards. Only one card is stamped and it uses guava ink and the large swirl pattern.
I got the ideas for most of these cards from Splitcoast. Go to the scrapbooking gallery under
Simply Scrappin' kits for more ideas to use what you will have left of this kit.
Tapestry Card class file folder accordian card
This is the second Card Class project for month number 3 in the Tapestry line.
This is a file folder accordian card. It could also hold some small pictures, or even a TO DO list or two.
Here are the directions:
for a print out of the directions go to kwernerdesign.com/blog.
I have prescored your folder pieces.
Cut the following from your Brocade backgrounds designer papers:
Green stripe print: 2 3/4 x 5 1/2 --3
2 3/4 x 5 1/8 --1
Green Brocade print (large print) 2 3/4 x 2 7/8 ---4
Chocolate/olive/ river rock swirl print 2 3/4 x 5 5/8 --2, 2 3/4 x 5 1/8 ---2, and 2 3/4 x 2 for inside flap
In your kit you will have
Vanilla cardstock: 2 1/4 x 4 3/4 ---2, 2 1/4 x 5 1/8 ---2 you will stamp these with choc. chip ink and olive inks with the swirl and small star like flower
1 olive key tag punched out you will stamp on
1 river rock 1 3/8 circle you will stamp on
1 artichoke 3/4 inch circle
river rock 1/4 inch strips
1 rhinestone brad
1 antique brass brad
vanilla scraps for front stamped and inside stamped items
inks: choc chip and olive
stampin dimensionals
olive/river rock satin ribbon from Theater ribbon originals: 14"
Simply glue your papers onto the file folder. Stamp your inserts, and accent pieces, and assemble. It really isn't hard and you should be able to tell from the photos (which if you click on them they get bigger) what to do. So have fun with this and try some other papers and stamps. Would make a great card holder too for a birthday or anniversary. Use Christmas papers for a cute card/gift.
Tapestry Card Class month 3 mini album
I hope you like this little mini album. It is so cute, great for small pictures or to tell a story about a family event with a picture or two.
Here are the directions:
4 3x3 vanilla envelopes
2 pieces of your groovy guava textured cardstock cut to 6x4 and scored at 3 1/4 and 3 3/4 (along the 6 inch side)
2 pieces of the dark green/guava print cardstock cut to 3 7/8 x 3 1/8 for back of "cover" and for inside middle
4 pieces of dark green/guava print cardstock cut to 3 7/8 x 2 1/8 for front and back side flaps
5 pieces of 3x3 groovy guava paper for inserts and to cover front envelope.
15" of guava stitched ribbon
1 large and 2 medium vanilla flat back pearls from Pretties kit
Baroque motiffs swirl stamp and groovy guava ink
slit hole punch or larger round hole punch to be able to put ribbon through the closure.
scrap piece of white paper to line the front square sticker
glue dots for pearls or liquid glue
Adhere envelopes together by folding flap back and then sticking to the next envelope. On final envelope, tape the flap down (not sealing the envelope). Now place a bit of adhesive only down the center of each envelope and stick them together (this is between the envelopes below where the flaps are attached to that they hold together more strongly). You will not have adhesive on the front or back of your envelople stack.
Glue or sticky strip the largest section of the 4 x6 pieces of cardstock together to make the base of this album. You will now have a three panel tri-fold piece with a spine on either side of the center panel. Glue your designer papers to the outside back middle, front sides, inside sides and the middle inside panels. I used the guava side of the paper for the inside middle part. Embellish the inside spine with a strip of the "ribbon" stickers if you like.
Adhere your envelope stack to the bottom center panel of your album.
Stamp and decorate with the stickers and stamps your 4 insert pieces.
Adhere the 5th 3x3 guava piece to the front of your envelope stack and decorate.
Glue pearls onto front, attach focal point, and tie with ribbon.

brocade file folder accordian card/book
Here is a cute idea I found on kwernerdesign.com's blog. There are larger versions of this out there, but this one uses less paper. You basically cut a file folder in half and fold this in 4th's. Then decorate with designer papers. It is fun and pretty easy. Makes a great way to showcase some smaller pictures, a collection of small notes, or could be used as a mini organizer.
Have fun trying one of these.

Photo Christmas cards
Okay, so there is no photo here. That is because I don't have any photos in my house that would be usable. Yes, I am a weird one whose only photos exist on the computer in files on iPhoto instead of being in print or in scrapbooks. Ahh, the price of being a demo, mom, homeschool teacher, wife, etc. etc. No time to scrapbook and thus print those pictures. So you'll have to use your own imagination here. I have lots of friends who like to send photos for Christmas cards. Here is attempt no. 1 to find an easy card that they could do that doesn't require much in the way of stamps and supplies for them.
Specs:
real red cardstock 8 1/2 x 3 7/8.
old olive cardstock 3x5
Dashing designer paper 1 x 8 1/2 and a scrap for photo corner punch
Stamps: Star Studded season or other Christmas greeting
gold embossing powder
gold elastic cord or other gold metallic thin cording or a nice knot of non bulky gold ribbon would be nice. The cord was all I had to tie this together.
photo corner punch.
Standard sized card: real red 1/2 sheet
old olive wide grosgrain, old olive 3 3/4 x 3 1/2, Encore gold metallic ink, and stamps for background and greeting (Star studded season and In the Spotlight), and then Dashing paper scraps for photo corners, photo corner punch, and dimensionals for popping the corners up.
garden sillhouettes
I made this gift certificate holder out of a standard business envelope (long and thin ones) and scored it into 3rds. Then I stamped it, filled it with the gift certificate and added it to my card front. This card was so easy and would be easy to adapt to the holidays.
supplies:
Garden sillhouettes, paisley background, pixie pink and basic grey inks and papers, basic grey taffeta ribbon, and oval punches.
