March PTI Blog Hop: blue and yellow inspiration

I am going to keep this short and sweet.   I love the inspiration photo for this month's blog hop.  What an amazing assortment of pieces and patterns to use as a jumping off point.  Dishes, linens, light shades, cabinets, wallpaper, headboard, woodgrain, flowers, lemons, etc.  So many ways to go.  I kept my card simple and cheery.  I used a stripe embossing folder to mimic the headboard cabinet doors on the bottom of the cabinet chest.  I used kraft from the picnic table, and then aqua and lemon tart and a brighter yellow for my flowers.  They kind of remind me of a modern take on a hydrangea.  Can't wait to see what everyone else makes.  I have a whole collection of blue and yellow cards I have ideas for that I want to make, but this one will have to do for now.  Happy blog hopping.

These two cards I cased from some cards in my Pinterest files.  I used PTI printed papers, Rosie Posie and Rosie Posie additions, Fillable Frames, and Mini frames sentiments.  I think I like the kraft base card the best of these two.

Going Postal

I love the Postmarks set, but frankly wasn't sure how to use it to it's fullest potential.  I dug through the internet to find some samples using this set and made two cards from Dawn McVey, because they were just too pretty and colorful to not make them.   I have a few more clean and simple ideas to CAS that uses this set.   Then I guess I need to get a little creative on my own and see what I can do.  Loved both of these cards and the fact they made me dig out some older products I have not used in awhile.

Getting Sketchy

I am trying to work my way through the sketches from this month's Papertrey Ink release.  There were some very good sketches that I could easily picture using certain sets and papers with.  That does not happen to me very often.  I am trying to build up my card stash so I can sell some assorted card sets.  Here are two I made yesterday and today.

A few cards on a March day

I so want warm weather.  It has been warmer here, but rainy.  I guess we are getting a taste of Seattle weather.  Anyway, to lift my rainy day blues, I made three cards this afternoon.  Here they are.

Some more cards from this week

Here are the cards I have made this week.  Trying to even out my stash and I was low on friendship and get well cards.    It feels good to get out some very neglected stamp sets, paper colors, and accessories to make some fresh new cards.  I used a lot of card inspiration from my Pinterest boards, but had to fit in my own selection of supplies.  Fun.  I am loving the challenge I put on myself to not bring in any new stamps or other supplies and just use what I have.  Not that I haven't been tempted.  I really like some of the $5 sets and $8 dies from PTI as well as a ton of cover plate dies that are in my wish list, but I will resist.  I must resist.   Hope you have a blessed day.  Enjoy the cheery cards.
