New Card Class kit for Spring/Summer catalog

This is my new card class kit to usher in the new Spring/Summer Catalog and Idea Book from Stampin' UP! It features the set Embrace Life, which is a lovely Asian inspired set. I love it, as it truly is versatile for elegant cards. This kit is not limited to being ordered just in January, but throughout the Spring/Summer catalog period.

The kit will include the following items:
Embrace Life stamp set $23.95
Ginger blossom designer series paper $9.95
A blender pen $3.75
Assorted precut cardstock, ribbons, and other embellishments to make 8 cards. $10
The kit total is $53.48 with shipping and handling charges added in.

You will need to have the following other items to complete your cards, so if you don't have them, make sure you order those with the order for the kit: groovy guava ink, ruby red ink, river rock ink, mellow moss ink, basic brown or chocolate chip ink, stampin' dimensionals, white gel pen.

I used the new Eastern Elegance Rub-ons

I used the new Eastern Elegance rub-ons from Stampin' UP! today. They are the new rub-ons they are putting in the new catalog. I haven't really used rub-ons that much. Just wasn't something I have taken too, and since I hardly ever scrapbook, it just wasn't something out there that was useful to me. So I took the leap and tried these as the images seemed to lend themselves to glassware, metal, and other smooth surfaces for altering. I love them!!!! They are so easy to get to adhere. I had a little trouble with what I did today cause the vase was beveled, not straight up and down. So the top row of rub-ons didn't stay straight. But it wasn't too bad. I made this vase for a family whom we delivered Angel tree presents too. In case you don't know what that is, Prison Fellowship is an organization that allows prisoners to send presents to their children at Christmas time with the help of volunteers who buy the presents for them and present them on their behalf. The family we helped to get presents for was so sweet, and it was an honor to be God's hands and feet to bless this family at Christmas. My boys were so excited to have the opportunity to help share about Jesus through this act of service. I hope to make this a yearly tradition. It's what Christmas is all about.

My Christmas presents: Aren't they just gorgeous?!

Okay, so I know this post won't show up in the right time order, but I had to get the post ready before I wasn't with my computer to put the pictures on. I can't change the post date on Blogger, so I hope you all find this. I made these gorgeous picture frames for my family for Christmas. Aren't they just wonderful? Okay, I know I am tooting my own horn a little, but I think they turned out really pretty. I used Carte Postal and the LeJardin papers for one, Cutie pie papers, and then the new Ginger blossom and Embrace life stuff for the last one. I love them all. I hope they do too. I didn't put pictures on all of them so they can personalize them themselves. The LeJardin one is for my sister in law and husband as they are moving this week into their new house, which they built. The Cutie pie one is for my husband' s parents. The Ginger Blossom one is for my parents.

Then the last picture is a canvas I made for my sister in-law as a very late birthday present. She graduated this Summer from UNC (it's too bad it was Carolina and not Wake Forest, but I'll forgive her since she lives in Raleigh and it was closer for her... ha!ha! At least it wasn't Duke.) from their special MBA program for executives (those already working in the field so to speak), and she worked so hard for two years to get this. I am so proud of her. We weren't able to go to the graduation, but we are proud of her accomplishments. I made this as a memo board. Used chipboard letters, and ribbons, staple gun, and thumbtacks. I think it is very nice. I hope she likes it.

Well that is all for the Christmas present side.

A few quick Cuttlebug notecards

A few notecards I whipped up on my Cuttlebug machine tonight. Pretty cool huh?! I love the simplicity and elegance of them. So great for Christmas thank yous. This uses the snowflakes cuttlebug embossing plate. And I even did the envelope flap to match. Gotta love it.

I HAVE THE NEW CATALOG!!!!!!!!

IT'S HERE! IT'S HERE! It was almost like Christmas yesterday when I went to get the mail. I had three things in there from Stampin' UP!, one of which was my new catalog. I stayed up till 11:15 last night looking over it, picking out what I wanted to put on my wish list, etc. I think it is a beautiful catalog. Lots of wonderful color combos (my favorite is the groovy guava, ruby red, river rock combo. So beautiful.), soft spring and summer colors, and bold bright kids colors.
I love the three new style watch lines: Crew classics for kids and classic styles in pumpkin pie, wasabi, bashful blue, real red, tempting turquoise, and regal rose. Lots of great boy themed papers, a new DAD's Day set that will be good, and just general stuff great for kids of all ages.

I love love the Eastern Eclectic colors of olive, saffron, pumpkin, guava, coral, and rose red. The flowers are fresh and pretty. I bought the Embrace life from this collection and love it. The papers are very pretty too. I will do a card kit class for this set and papers.

Then there is the new Boho West collection with a whole new pretty and feminine color scheme. This is not your typical "western" color scheme with pretty chocolates, cocoa, regal rose, pomegranate, vanilla, pretty in pink. Yummy! And the new boho style sets are very pretty. I will probably get the new One of a Kind set that coordinates with the new Boho blossoms punch (think Spring blossoms punch but more scalloped circles)and do a card kit class for that.

The samples in this catalog are simple, elegant, crisp, and clean. I love it that they include so much more than just cards: there are gift packaging, party elements, gifts, chipboard projects, etc. Much more variety. Many are very striking with very nice layouts (again simple and clean and doable), and good combinations of colors and products.

Hostess sets leave a little to be desired in my opinion this time on the level 1 and level 2 areas. There is a 6x6 designer prints paper pack as a level one hostess that has the designer prints patterns for wasabi, real red, apricot, bashful blue, and pretty in pink. Definitely going to get that. There are the usual flowers, a couple of just greetings for your card fronts that are okay, and then you get to the level 3 sets. Now I am okay with the Time Well Spent set that we got for FREE as demonstrators, but I totally want the level 3 Older and Wiser set that is all Birthday greetings and images. It is sooo cute and appropriate for all ages. You just have to see it.

There are St. Patty's day sets, Valentine's, a cute new Easter egg set that looks like fun, 4th of July and a nice Patriotic set for sending stuff to the troops overseas. Very nice. There are a few Christmas sets but most of them are on the dormant list and not in the catalog.
Beautiful new wedding sets, new birthday sets, father's day sets, baby, kids, punny set for kids and those young at heart, of course your typical flowers, but lots of word elements, accents with words to use with the punches (circle and scallop flower), journaling elements with greetings, calander/office elements, graduation set, beach set, teen sayings set (big, chunky elements that are full of teen attitude sayings: dude, that is so cool, that's random, totally awesome, freak out, like you know, etc).

New backgrounds mini and large that are nice, scallop edge stamps (all scallops), labels and frames in an elegant look, lots of new greetings sets from elegant, classic, and sassy to whimsical road signs with saying on them. Very nice. And some nice new alphabets, one of which is very elegant.

Great great new designer papers in bright spring and summer prints and colors. Classic prints for boys in great colors, new color palette for the brocade style papers in soft sky, wasabi or olive, and river rock, new Boho western paper colors, but same prints. There are a lot of new simply scrappin' kits in new themes for kids, boho elements, weddings, summer vacation, brocade set. New felt flowers in a tin in pomegranate, olive and pumpkin colors, and new accents and elements tins for office look, boho and eastern elements, and then the build a flowe set.

New glitter stacks, die cut double sided sticky alphabet and elements (think simon lower chipboard but made on sticky strip like sheets) you can adhere glitter and new bead duos to, new striped ribbons in crew colors of red, wasabi, bashful blue and pumpkin, and bead duos with micro beads and small round and hex beads in single colors. 3 new punches debut , boho blossoms, large star, and my way which are three arrows of different sizes pointing in different directions.

And last but not least, rub-ons for those of you who scrapbook these will thrill you. There are 5 rub on collections: Take note (office like theme), anchored (family memories theme), eastern elegance (eastern eclectic theme), cherished memories (baroque and elegant feel), and urban west (boho west theme). They come in sets of two sheets: black and white. I bought the Eastern elegance, but will probably buy some of the others. What can you use rub-ons for? Well, on glass, wood, chipboard, metal, glass or plastic frames, cardstock, on top of textured elements like textured papers, embossed images, ribbons, fabrics (not felt probably). They are pretty easy to use, but unlike stamps the images are one time use. A great addition to the stamp styles they go with.

So far my stamp wish list is moderate to small for me as I am trying to buy only what goes with what I already have or complements it:
One of a Kind will be new but goes with the Bali breeze paper I bought and the new boho blossoms punch which I hope to get
Family sayings go with the All in the Family set that I have
Full Calendar will go with the calendar background stamp so I can finish my monthly planner
From the Kitchen of (new recipe card set to go with my Voila sets)
Smarty pants sayings cause they are too funny
Many Happy Returns is like the so many sayings hostess set from F/W collection
Designer papers: spring break, jersey shore, east coast prep, berry bliss, and spring sillouettes
scallop notes
priceless and punches plus classy brass
large and small star punches
all striped and taffeta ribbons
urban west, take note, and anchored rub-ons

Stamps that if I get them cool, if not, okay:
Pun fun
Dad's day
It's a Sign
All scallops
nursery necessities and nursery alphabet wheel

Good thing is that all the new stamps sets will be available for a whole year, so if I don't get them in this catalog I will be able to get them in the Fall.

These are just my one full day with the catalog early thoughts on the whole thing. I hope you enjoy your new catalog when you get it in January. For now, I thought I would whet your appetite a little.

A couple more Christmas things:

Here are a couple of things I made for the Sunday School teachers at our church from my boys.
There is a little mini card (1/4 sheet of cardstock folded in half) and a little peppermint patty box. Cambria Turnbow made up the box, and scallop punch idea for covering the peppermint pattys. I just used Christmas papers, and such. These were quick and easy and the teachers liked them. I wanted to make some more cards to give them , but I ran out of time. So maybe at the end of the school year I'll be able to treat them to something special like that.

Just a little note about some upcoming posts

I can't wait for Christmas so I can show you all the cool things I have been working on for Christmas presents. I would show them to you now, but the recipients of the gifts check out my blog too, so I can't let the cat out of the bag yet. But I am so proud of my creations. I must say, I tend to do the wrong thing by waiting until December to get these gifts made, but alas, they are coming together quite well. I think you will find some neat things.

Also I just have to tell you about some new stamps that Papertreyink just released last night for Valentine's day cards and treats. These stamps are specially designed to package up pretty candies like nuggets, peppermint patties, and Reese's miniature peanut butter cups. They have sentiments for all kinds of occasions but have been released this month to specifically address the Valentine's season. One set called SWEET LOVE is really great for elegant valentines and for wedding favors and treats. The other two are called My Punny Valentine, with an booster set called Year Round Puns, and then Limitless Labels. You will be seeing stuff from me in the early new year for ideas on how to use these sets. They are acrylic stamps, so you need to buy the clear blocks, but I love them. They are the best of the best of these types of stamps. Plus if you order $40 or more you get free shipping. Not trying to lure anyone over to the Non-Stampin' UP! dark side, but Papertreyink and their stamp designer, Nicole Heady sure do know what they are doing. Their stuff is awesome.

And just in case you think I have become disenchanted with Stampin' UP!, no way!! I am just as excited about the new Spring/Summer catalog, because what I have seen of it so far, makes me think I am in real trouble with making decisions on what to order. I may have to continue to gut out my older stamps and those I just don't use much. We'll see. Hopefully my complimentary catalog will be here before Christmas. By the way the cover of the catalog is soooo lovely. You'll love it.

I've been tagged... 7 new facts about me.

I've been tagged by Robyn, a lady who used to be part of my Stampin' UP! downline, and a very creative lady. She has a blog on my sidebar, and she posts creations when she can with her busy schedule. So I am supposed to write 7 things most people don't know about me on here. Hmm...Do I have 7 things about me that most people don't know. Actually most people don't really know much about me. I am not a big talker, and there isn't much about me that I find interesting enough to talk about. So here goes.

1. Growing up I wanted to be a dancer on stage. I love to watch ballets, jazz dance performances, musicals, etc. and I always wanted to learn how to dance to do that too. Still would love to do that, but I think that is not an area I would be gifted at these days even though I still love to dance. I used to stay out all night in college at Sigma Nu parties cause they played the best dance music, and was the one fraternity where people didn't drink so much. They were the one fraternity who hosted the all night dance fund raisers for the Brian Piccolo cancer fund. It was so much fun.

2. I used to watch cooking shows when I was kid, and loved to watch how they made things all look pretty. I never knew until I was in high school that you could make a profession of cooking and making cakes. Duh!!! So then I knew what I wanted to do as a possible career.

3. I have been to Bermuda, Jamaica, Iceland, Germany, Hungary, and Austria.

4. My feet are two different sizes: one is 6 1/2 and one is more like 7.

5. I was born three months premature and weighed 2 lbs. 9 oz.. I stopped breathing a day or two after I was born, but I hung on.

6. I love all types of music, except Country and Heavy Metal (basically noise if you ask me and not pretty noise) types. I have seen Chicago, Audio Adrenaline, Reliant K, and Switchfoot in concert. I was hoarse after the latest concert (Reliant K and Switchfoot which are alternative rock Christian bands) and was up on my feet and dancing and singing to the music the whole time. That was this past November that Scott and I did that.

7. I was 15th in my high school class out of about 500 people, and 11 of my classmates were Valedictorians (spelling?). In college I was .5 points away from graduating Magna cum laude from Wake Forest University with a degree in Business.

Embrace Life: versamark resist

This card is very pretty in real life, but I must say it didn't scan very well. This is a beautiful, soft, and elegant card. The best part is how easy it is. It is 4 1/4 inches square so you cut your paper 4 1/4 by 8 1/2. You can get two from one sheet of paper. Anyway, the black and glossy white layers are in 1/4 inch increments from the base. Oh, and this is one of the new sets from the Spring/Summer 08 catalog. This is the Embrace Life set from the Preview Brochure. You just have to love this set with the coordinating Designer paper (Ginger blossom) and then there will be rub ons to go with this too.
Oh, and I have to give credit for this card idea and design to talented lady on Splitcoast: gadget19. She made this card using white embossing powder, but I thought the versamark resist would be awesome too. Try it with iridescent ice embossing powder too, or glitter and heat and stick powder. The possibilities are endless.
Now for the technique:
Take a piece of glossy cardstock and stamp your image in versamark ink. Then brayer or sponge ink over the glossy cardstock. Buff the image, and voila, it appears. Very subtle and elegant. I used sage shadow and soft sky for this one. You just have to try this technique. This would work great with one of our jumbo wheels, a background stamp or an image like this.

A Pretty Emboss Resist card... and a teaser

Hi, Everyone. Well first of all I have to give a little teaser for the new catalog. Some ladies from Canada have received their complementary copy of the new catalog and posted sneak peaks from it. You are going to love, love, love it. I have to be quite honest that I wasn't totally thrilled with the Fall/Winter catalog. Not much that was new, too many flowers, etc. But this new book should thrill you. Lots of new stuff, great occassion sets for birthdays, weddings, graduation, baby, kids, etc. Lots of new accessories like rub ons, chipboard sheets, bead sets, glitter sets, striped ribbons, great new collections series, new punches, beautiful new designer papers. Need I say more. Hopefully my copy gets here before Christmas. Now how do I ask for stamping money for Christmas. And there are a ton of things I want from Papertrey Ink too. Oh, I am in trouble.

Anyway, here is a cool card I made tonight. Now it is very similar to a card I posted last month. I loved the layout, elegance, and simplicity of this card, so I had to use the same thing for this technique. Plus I don't have a lot of stamps this technique would work well with, so here it is.

How do you do the emboss resist technique?
1. You cut your glossy cardstock (must use the glossy for best results). Then take your embossing buddy to take the static off the glossy cardstock.
2. Stamp your image with Versamark ink on the glossy cardstock. I layered another image on top of this with basic black CRAFT ink. Now if you look at the black image closely you'll see that the underlying image I stamped with the versamark sort of resisted this ink. (oooh, that is another resist technique too) Not to worry, it isn't too noticeable.
3. Pour on the clear embossing powder, tap off excess, and heat emboss.
4. Use a sponge to color the cardstock. I smudge it at first to get full coverage then I go over it with pounces to get a more stippled effect.
5. Buff the piece with some tissue to wipe the ink off the embossed part, and voila!! Isn't it soo pretty?!!

I thought I was pretty clever in layering the images. Mostly you'll just use one bold image and clear emboss that and then color the cardstock whatever color you want. But I just knew this would work with this Garden Silhouettes set. Hmmm. I was right. That doesn't happen very often.

Have fun trying this technique. It is fun and easy and gives a good Wow! factor.

New Hostess Level 3 Set Preview

Stampin' UP! sent all of their demonstrators this new Level 3 Hostess set from the new catalog that comes on Jan. 1st. Wow!! They are so good to us in giving us lots of free stamps. It contains lots of flowers, a couple of sentiments, this heart image, and a butterfly image. While it isn't a stamp set I would have chosen to try to get, it is always nice to get free rubbah!! And as with all my other stamps, I am trying to use what I have, so here is one card I have made for this. I am doing a training class for the girls in my downline this coming week. I am going to be showing them a few resist techniques. This one uses a crayon resist technique.

Here is how you do it:
Stamp your outline image in basic black ink on GLOSSY WHITE paper. Next you take a white crayon (you can use a watercolor wonder crayon, but it doesn't work quite as well), and color in all the parts you don't want to take the ink. I did the flower and the double line edge of the heart. Now you brayer on your ink or use a sponge. I used Purely Pomegranite. Then you take a tissue and wipe off the ink off the crayon. Voila!! It reveals a white detail. When you buff the image with the tissue it takes off the crayon, so you could go back and color in the white part that it leaves with a marker in a different color. I'll try to show that in another post. It is pretty easy. I then stamped the small flowers on the card base in black and put the white accents on with white gel pen. I love that gel pen. Best one I have ever owned, and Stampin' UP! sells it. Woohoo!!
I must say that I tried to put a sentiment on this card after I had stamped the small flowers. Not a good idea. The sentiment needs to be at the bottom right corner, but alas I goofed. I then attempted to put a sentiment at the top and it looks quite horrible. Sorry. My sample for my girls will be much better.

Fall Flowers cards

I made 18 cards with this paper very quickly. All the designer papers were cut to the same size and just layered differently. Most of the papers used had the two patterns on the same sheet. So I cut out the larger layer first then cut out the smaller piece second and just had a small piece left over. Now that is what I call paper savvy. These cards are 6x3 1/2, and are soft sky, really rust, and groovy guava. I used Papertrey sentiments, and My Sentiments Exactly alphabets. I made these as part of Christmas gifts for a few people.

One last Piece of Cake sample for now

So I am very busy making Christmas presents, and the cards I have posted lately have been for that. I like to give a variety of cards in sets for folks, but I was low on birthday cards. And I have been promising to use the Eat Cake set in a card class kit, so I was trying to do something with that as well. Anyway, here is one more Piece of Cake set card for birthdays. There are other images in this set for weddings too. I'll have to get to those later. They are great.
This one uses long notes again in cool caribbean and taken with teal, as well as kraft paper. I used craft inks on this whole card as they layer over the kraft paper and other colors better. Now on to some cards with monograms, which Papertrey has some great new monogram alphabet sets. I don't have those yet, but they are on my Christmas wish list. Hope to have them after the holidays are over.

Papertrey's Piece of Cake

I love this set from Papertrey Ink. You have to check out their stamps. Nicole Heady used to be a Stampin' UP! demonstrator, but now designs these great new acrylic stamps for Papertrey Ink. See my sidebar for the website link. Anyway, she makes these amazing stamps that are truly two step stampin that you can actually line up. It is amazing. Being a pastry chef, I had to have this set. I love it.

I used long notes, perfect plum, pale plum, lovely lilac, and elegant eggplant for my colors, as well as white and close to cocoa for cake colors. These are pretty and fairly simple.

Birthday Reminder Tag books

Here are two Birthday reminder books. They are for keeping up with birthdays for each month of your friends and family. I don't know about you, but I find it is hard to rewrite all the birthdays from year to year on the calendar. So this is the solution. It doesn't need updating each year, unless you gain new friends and family members. But they can just be added to the pages of this book. You can stick it in your card box with all those handmade (wink! wink!) cards you have made to send out this year. Pretty cool, huh? I can't claim this idea as my own. I first saw it on Valerie Stangle's blog. She is pretty creative.

supplies: confetti simply scrappin', day to day flexible phrases (retired set), stamp of authenticity, round tab punch, cropadile to punch out the holes, ribbons, and thin cardboard (but our chipboard accents kit has the tags already for you to use as the cover and back cover). Can't get any easier than that.

Dimensions are 5 x 2 5/8" for the tag covers, and the pages inside are 5x 2 1/2. You can get twelve inside pages out of two sheets of regular cardstock. I cut the round tab punch outs in half and just stapled them to the pages. Saves time and paper.

More Eat Cake cards

Here are some more cards with the Eat Cake set. Fortunately it is not a set that is retiring with the release of the new Spring/Summer Occassions Catalog. It will be here in Jan. so make sure you stay tuned, and get a copy reserved for you now. I sell my catalogs for only $5. I would love to get one to you.
These cards are pretty basic and don't take a lot of time to do. They use a variety of colors, some simple accessories, and a variety of the stamps from the set.
I used chipboard letters from the Lots of Letters chipboard set, and on the brown card I used my Cuttlebug with the Happy Birthday embossing folder, which was a perfect fit. Large eyelets, brads, ribbons, ticket corner punch, and the Confetti simply scrappin' kit round out the things I used on these cards.

Confetti Simply Scrappin Quick Cards

Here are some quick cards from the Confetti Simply Scrappin' kit. You could make so many more of these, as I only used one of the sets of sticker sheets. Most of the layouts are from 2006 Convention ideas. They were pretty quick, and used the Eat Cake stamp set as well. All cards are 3x6. Use a no. 6 envelope.
Taken with Teal, Rose Red, Old Olive, and Saffron inks.

Here is a link to a blog with more cute ideas for using this Simply Scrappin' kit.

Basic Grey Winterland

I just got some of Basic Grey's new Figgy Pudding papers and the Winterland acrylic stamp set today at the Scrapbooks Galore and More store. Love it!! Here is a card layout and idea from Shel999 from Splitcoast. I changed the papers, and such but the idea was the same. It's pretty.

Thanks Shel.

Awesome Paper Bows and a Pretty Paper Package too

Okay it's time to throw out the cheap plastic bows we put on our packages, grab some double sided designer papers, and make your own coordinated bows to adorn your gifts. These are so easy to make. Grab a stapler, some pop up glue dots, and your patterned papers and get ready to make oodles of bows in no time flat. See this tutorial for directions: Paper Bows.
I made this one with scraps of my Dashing paper from Stampin' UP! Remember that you can buy 3 packs of designer paper and get the 4th one FREE only during the month of November. You know you can use the paper to wrap small presents in a box too. Or use it for embellishing a paper bag and attach the fancy bow to the top or front. I think that would be pretty too.

Green and Brown Sympathy

Black, Red and White sympathy

I needed to make a few sympathy cards, so I found this sketch and color scheme on Splitcoaststampers and loved it. How simple and elegant and suitable for a sympathy card. So here it is. Basic black, red and white. I just made a card front and then glued that to a white folded over card base. This is the Garden Silhouettes Level 2 hostess set and last years Warmest Regards hostess sets. You gotta get these hostess sets, ya'll. They are great.

Quick Dilly Dally Baby cards

I made 36 of these in shades of blue, green, pink and purple using left over pieces of retired Designer papers. I used the Dilly Dally Baby wheel which is so quick and easy and accented with ribbons, an oval punch out and short sentiment on the front. Pretty quick to do assembly line style.

Office card class: Jumbo Paper clip

Here is the jumbo paper clip that is so easy to make. It does take some special equipment if you choose to make more yourself. You get the jumbo clips at Wal-Mart in the office section. A container is only $1. You also need extra strength adhesive that will adhere to metal. I got some Elmer's Craft Bond Ultrafix adhesive from Wal-mart as well as the super strong magnets. Those items are in the craft area.

You simply take a piece of chipboard and use that as a base (I would recommend that route for magnets), or use your scallop flower punch or round circle punches for the base of your clip. Cut out two and sandwich the clip in between them with the Ultra strong adhesive. Let this dry overnight. Then you can embellish it.
I used a stamped flower (more mustard with rock and roll edges in real rust, and river rock), some wasabi ribbons, and a round tab with one of the Office Accoutrement stamps. You can use whatever you want. I am including supplies to make what I did as far as the paper clip base. These are fun and easy and would be great gifts. Have fun.

Office Card Kit in a Box class grand finale

I hope you all have enjoyed this Office Card kit. I must say these stamps are not easy for me to use. I don't know why. Maybe cause I just don't have an office imagination. But it has been fun to try to incorporate these elements into various projects. These stamps are great for masculine projects and memo type cards. I hope you use this last month's samples as springboards for your own creativity. I am sorry I was so late in getting these done. I am including some sheets of plain wasabi, river rock and mustard papers in your kits, so you can do with them as you please in creating your own clipboards, tins, and journals. If you have questions about anything I did, please just email me and ask.

Here are links to all the projects:

Little reminders tin remake
On Board Journal
9x9 clipboard
jumbo paperclip bookmark

Bonus project: I am giving you a piece of chipboard to use for making a little tag booklet to hold tags with the library card stamped on them to record monthly birthdays. See this link from Splitcoaststampers. I haven't had time to make this, but the stickers from the Little Reminders tin like the calander one and the small notes one along with flowers would make an easy accent for the cover. You could use the round tab punch to put at the end of each sheet to help find each month. If you have the old Day to Day Flexible phrases set that just retired, you could use that for stamping the months. Otherwise just hand write them. Once I get one done, I will post it with pictures. For now I think you can see from the Splitcoast post what I am taking about.

Office Little Reminders tin remake

Here is the Little Reminders tin makeover. I made it into a little desk photo album for my husband to put on his desk. I realized once I got it done, I should have used that spiral punch for my printed paper accents. Duh!! I have been in such a rush to get this little thing done, and not using anyone else's sketch I might add, that I totally forgot to do that. Oh well. I hope it inspires you and you can totally tweak it and make it even better.

Specs: I used river rock papers (8 1/2 by 5 -2 sheets) for the fold out part. You use a slot punch to make room for the ribbon "binding" which I stuck together with a little glue dot. Just use a small scrap of the wasabi ribbon for that. Then I stamped all over these sheets front and back with river rock ink and various small stamps from the Office Accoutrement and Stamp of Authenticity sets. I took a picture so you could see. Then I took a 4 1/4x 5 piece and did the same for the inside of the front cover. I also used the large corner rounder on all the corners to match the inside corners of the tin. This is the old large corner rounder Stampin' UP! used to sell. You could use the small one too, but it won't match perfectly.
Then I just used scraps of Notations papers and Little Reminders accents and put my photos on them . I made two pockets for "library cards" which I will write a special message on to Scott from the boys.
For the front and back covers I just traced around the outside of the tin and sticky taped them to the outside. I stamped and embellished them. Not too hard. Have fun with this project.

One last project to go and that is jumbo paper clips. I will include magnets for you with this, but you could use these as big book marks too.
