Embrace Life: versamark resist

This card is very pretty in real life, but I must say it didn't scan very well. This is a beautiful, soft, and elegant card. The best part is how easy it is. It is 4 1/4 inches square so you cut your paper 4 1/4 by 8 1/2. You can get two from one sheet of paper. Anyway, the black and glossy white layers are in 1/4 inch increments from the base. Oh, and this is one of the new sets from the Spring/Summer 08 catalog. This is the Embrace Life set from the Preview Brochure. You just have to love this set with the coordinating Designer paper (Ginger blossom) and then there will be rub ons to go with this too.
Oh, and I have to give credit for this card idea and design to talented lady on Splitcoast: gadget19. She made this card using white embossing powder, but I thought the versamark resist would be awesome too. Try it with iridescent ice embossing powder too, or glitter and heat and stick powder. The possibilities are endless.
Now for the technique:
Take a piece of glossy cardstock and stamp your image in versamark ink. Then brayer or sponge ink over the glossy cardstock. Buff the image, and voila, it appears. Very subtle and elegant. I used sage shadow and soft sky for this one. You just have to try this technique. This would work great with one of our jumbo wheels, a background stamp or an image like this.
